ABOUT 360°CLIMBING

Take three different people, with various background, age and professions. Let’s say that…

  • One is a passionate stones lover since he is barely 6 years old who turned into a highly educated geologist. Being a little lazy by nature, he discovered with great interest that, by flying a drone, he could obtain high resolution and high-accuracy topographic data in a fraction of the time normally needed.

  • Another one is a zealous mountaineer who earns his life working in IT and enjoys learning by himself new things, from playing guitar to creating a user-friendly website, if possible with a glass of whisky and good company to share his progress with.

  • And the last one is the humble link between the two others, the one who makes them comfortable, softly push them to open up and trust each other.

Make sure the three of them meet, through their common passion for rock climbing, for example in a section of the Club Alpin Suisse.

Wait a little, let them discuss and see what happens when one complains about the difficulty to read some climbing guides, the other explains how easily you could map a 3D climbing zone nowadays and the third gets excited about trying and sharing it with the local climbers’ community!

The result is this project, bringing a new dimension to rock climbing guides and topos! Enjoy!

AYMERIC LE COTONNEC

sac-logo.gif

A true rock enthusiast, even to the point of making a job out of it, geologist by formation, climber by passion, with a good mix of a geeky approach to things. Since I'm already using extensively 3D photogrammetric models for my job, I thought I might as well apply that to my hobby too!

ELOÏSE LE COTONNEC

Easily convinced partner in crime of almost any initiative involving mountains, rock climbing and travels, I am the artist of this project. Bit of a writer, bit of a painter, I like to stay behind the scene, give a fresh look at the hard work of others and make sure this all looks nice, clear and friendly to you!
